Constructive website marketing and website development information

Ensure that you are updating your website on a regular basis

A website is often an online profile of your business. You may decide that you want to sell products and services directly online by having a checkout and payment system in place or it may be purely there to show information and images of the products and services you offer allowing people to enquire. All websites should be updated on a regular basis for customer experience, to improve search engine optimisation and for security reasons.

A customer needs to be able to read the most up to date information on your website, so for example, if you have added a new line of products or changing your opening hours etc, this should be shown on your website as soon as possible. Also if there have been products that you have had to remove from sale or that are out of stock, they need to be removed so no one can purchase them until you are ready to sell them again.

If you have an ecommerce website that can track stock levels then you can often set the site up to automatically remove products that are sold out.

Security is another reason why a website should be updated. It is not only the content that should be added to but also the code may need to be updated to keep it secure.
