Many websites now have banner images that scroll across the top of their website. Sometimes these images are of their products, staff members of premises and other times they are stock images that have been purchased online.
It can be hard to know which banners to use across the top of the website. These will often be the first thing someone sees when they land on your site so they need to give the right impression.
If the banner space is long and thin then there is no point trying to use a photo that is almost square as the majority of the image at the top or bottom will have to be cropped off or it will be stretched which never looks great.
Buying images will allow you the right to use them on your website but does mean other websites may have the same image unless you decide to call in a photographer. A photographer will often charge around £300 for a full day but during this time they wil be able to take lots of different types of photos for you to use.
If you want banner that contain text to scroll on your website make sure that you allow enough time for someone to read it before it changes.
