Businesses all over the world are now setting up profiles on many of the social media sites. Even some companies that initially were dead against it have now dropped their personal views and taken the plunge. Regardless of whether you personally like or use social media websites, they can be very lucrative to a businesses marketing strategy and are often very cost effective.

When it comes to social media it is about getting the balance right. No one wants to be inundated with post after post of about who is making the coffee in the team today or that you have just had a new PC delivered. You need to share interesting relevant information with your followers that will get them thinking about what you have said and hopefully sharing it with other. Saying that, many followers do like to read the odd “off the wall” comment that may add a bit of humour to their day. Always be aware that when you are using social media as a company you are representing your business and telling the world that you had a heavy night last night and are feeling a little worse for wear is not going to gain you business or instil faith in your customers.
