Constructive website marketing and website development information

Are you at risk of losing your data?

If you are in online marketing or have a business website and are keen to know how well certain aspects of your marketing are working, then you will probably use some sort of analytics package. Google Analytics is the main stats package used and it has a wealth of information within in.

Google have recently announced that as of summer next year they are going to discontinue the universal analytics in place of analytics 4. Analytics 4 has been out for a little while now, but many web marketing experts are not so keen to see it being the only option they can use. As of July 2023, data will no longer be recorded through this method and instead you will have to have a Google analytics 4 account set up. This may mean that you lose all your historic data and so it is worth exporting any reports you may want and also setting up Google Analytics 4 now if you have not already done so. At least if you set it up now you will have year on year data comparison when it stops universal analytics. Google is promising that analytics 4 is far superior and that they need to move with the times but the jury is very much still out on this one.
